Install

  1. Download the ZIP and extract the whole folder to a place you like, for example C:\Tools\delimixx. Keep the files together: delimixx.exe needs the DLL files and the lang folder next to it.
  2. Run delimixx.exe. There is nothing to install and no account to create. This early build comes as a ZIP only; an MSI installer for administrators is planned for the full release.
  3. Open a CSV or TSV file with File > Open, or drag it onto the window.

To remove Delimixx, delete the folder. Your settings stay in %USERPROFILE%\.delimixx; delete that folder as well if you want them gone. Backups and sidecar files live next to your own files (.delimixx-backups and *.cvdeco) and are not removed automatically.

System requirements

  • Windows 11, 64-bit (x86-64). Windows 10 and earlier, macOS and Linux are not supported.
  • Memory: the whole file is loaded into memory, much more than the size of the file. In our test, a file with a million rows and ten columns (about 70 MB) used about 740 MB after opening; operations that touch every cell can need up to about 1.4 GB more for a moment. Delimixx warns you before opening a file that may not fit.

1. The checksum

In PowerShell, in the folder with the ZIP:

The value must match the SHA-256 shown above.

2. The signature

Right-click delimixx.exe, choose Properties > Digital Signatures, select the signature and press Details. It should say "This digital signature is OK" and show a timestamp. The publisher is the individual name of the operator of Quintastella, not the brand name, because the code-signing certificate is issued to a person. Certificates are issued by Certum.

If Windows shows a warning

Delimixx is signed, but a new publisher has no reputation with Windows SmartScreen yet, and a signature does not remove the warning at once: reputation builds over time as more people download the program. You may see "Windows protected your PC" or "unrecognized app". The publisher name and the SHA-256 above are how you can check that the file is genuine. If both match, choose More info and then Run anyway.

Language, updates and privacy

  • The interface starts in English. Switch to 日本語 on the welcome notice or in the settings.
  • Free does not connect to the internet unless you ask. The update check is off by default; turn it on in the settings, or press Check for updates on the App Information page. It contacts a public server only to look for a newer version, and it never downloads the program for you: to get a newer version, come back to this page. Activation is offline. Once Pro is on sale, a valid Pro key also downloads a small signed list of revoked license keys about every 7 days; Free never fetches this list. A subscription key past its expiry date looks online for a renewed key for 14 days, sending only the key's identifier; one-time licenses never do.

Open-source software
